Biography

I have been coaching for over 10 years in Phoenix, AZ, and have just recently moved to Colorado. I started at 9 yrs old, competing in Regional Competitions in So. California, then went on to skate in the Ice Follies, Taiwan Show, Knott's Berry Farm, and was in "Days of Our Lives"; I was taught in the Russian ballet technique. When working at the Montessori schools, I taught children with many different learning styles. I have 3 grown children, one which is a skater herself, completing her Gold Medals and was partner-coaching with me.

What I like about coaching

What do you like best about coaching:  I enjoy introducing the beginning skater to their first competition, as well as working with the advanced competitive skater. I specialize in jump technique, off-ice jump training, mental preparation, and how the present the "whole package". That includes the right music, designed dresses, hair, and a positive attitude. I enjoy working with my students in developing their "life skills" including self-confidence, overcoming fear, being focused, time management, nutrition, and being a gracious competitor.

Something about myself

What do you want skaters to know about you:  I LOVE to laugh and have fun, in whatever we are doing. My past students have considered me their "second Mom" and I become very close to my skaters and their parents. It's a team effort, and it's important that we are all on the same page.
