What do you like best about coaching: I like the day to day challenge of working with young skaters, developing new ice dance teams, and developing skater's skills through the Moves in the Field Test structure. I enjoy choreography for both dance and single skaters. Creating innovative footwork and patterns that maximizes levels in the new judging system, while simultaneously developing the character and theme of the program, is a very rewarding challenge. Ultimately, skaters with the strongest edges and turns will be the most successful whether they are single skaters or ice dancers.
What do you want skaters to know about you: I have been involved with skating for over 30 years, and I still love going into a rink and skating! I have been married for 8 years to an amazing woman, Michelle, who also coaches. We have two boys, Zachary and Owen, ages 5 and 3, and we are expecting our third child in November. I fell in love with Colorado when I competed here at the 1988 National Championships. I always thought this would be a great place to live and raise a family. So here I am!
